A performance “Appearance of Korea” was given here in celebration of the New Year 2018.
Among the audience were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju and other senior party and state officials, the chairman of a friendly party, officials of the Cabinet, ministries and national institutions, teaching staff and students of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School, officials, scientists, technicians, labor innovators and youth and students in Pyongyang.
Present on invitation were diplomatic envoys, representatives of international bodies and military attaches of foreign embassies here and other foreign guests and overseas compatriots.
Artistes of the Merited State Chorus and the Moranbong Band put on the stage the song of Korean-style socialism, the song of a great power that ushered in the era most glorious ever in the history of the nation spanning five thousands years.
Included in the repertoire of the performance, which began with prelude “Snow Is Falling on New Year’s Day”, were narrative poem and song “Glory of Our Life”, light music “Pyongyang Is Best”, female solo “Voice of My Heart”, female chorus “Song of Socialist Advance” and song and dance “Happy Tomorrow”. The performers highly sang of 2017, a year of great victory and miracles that jolted the world with mightiness of Korea and its irresistible strength.
Stormy applauses burst forth with raging waves of emotion when the image of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was projected against the background.
Mixed chorus and male chorus “Song of Big Fish Haul”, “Ballad of Gold Mountains” and female chorus and male chorus “Prospering My Country” added to the atmosphere of the performance.
There were also such numbers as Female chorus “We Will Follow the Marshal to End” and male chorus “Appearance of Korea” reflecting the ardent patriotism and unbreakable faith of all the servicepersons and civilians.
